Eric Rinehart: Failing to Follow the Law He’s Supposed to Enforce

I want to share a troubling incident involving Lake County State’s Attorney Eric Rinehart. Earlier this year, Mr. Rinehart failed to report an accident with his county-issued vehicle after colliding with a fire hydrant. This violation of Illinois law and county policies raises serious concerns about his commitment to upholding the law.

Despite the requirements to file an accident report and notify authorities, Mr. Rinehart neglected to do so, undermining the standards we expect from our State’s Attorney. This incident underscores the need for accountable leadership in Lake County.

As your candidate for State’s Attorney, I am committed to ensuring that everyone, including those in positions of power, adheres to the same legal standards expected of every citizen. Mr. Rinehart must immediately file a police report and explain why he failed to follow Illinois law for over six months.
