I recently had the honor of meeting with Yinam Cohen, the Consul General of Israel to the Midwest. Our conversation provided a valuable inside look at the current situation in the Middle East and the ironclad relationship between the United States and Israel.
Reflecting on our discussion, I am reminded of the importance of standing firm against antisemitism and ensuring the safety of our Jewish community. Hate and intolerance have no place in Lake County, and as your State’s Attorney, I will enforce hate crime laws to their fullest extent.
I was particularly disturbed by the recent incident where individuals marched through Congressman Brad Schneider’s Highland Park neighborhood in the middle of the night, chanting antisemitic slogans. This behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated under my administration.
We must push back against all forms of hate and bigotry, ensuring that every resident feels safe and protected. As we continue our campaign, I promise to prioritize the enforcement of hate crime laws and to stand with our Jewish community in the face of antisemitism.
Thank you for your unwavering support. Together, we can create a safer, more inclusive Lake County for everyone.
Yours in service,
