On March 9th, 2024, Lake County Sheriff Canine Dax was injured in the line of duty, leading to his retirement on April 10th. The Sheriff's office and the people of Lake County sprang into action to celebrate Dax and his career in law enforcement. 130 people joined Mary Cole in signing a get well soon card and Mary delivered a care package to Dax and his handler Deputy Forlenza.  Thanks to Dax, Deputy Forlenza and all law enforcement who keep us safe!
